Question by Ben: What is the best camera for streaming video on a website for cost and functionality?
Here is what I want to do: I have a contract to create a website for someone who wants to have 24-hour streaming live video of a bridge construction site. The camera that my client has is a security camera and won’t work for this project, so I have to find a new one. I would prefer something that is plug-and-play or easy to set up. It would probably be set up outdoors, though a cover could be built and it would need to be able to have some zoom capability. What camera would be the best solution for both cost and functionality? Recently released figures by DP Information Group, a leading credit and business information bureau in Singapore, has showed that the best performing SMEs in the country have been successful in braving all odds and beating the recessionary pressures. Despite having faced with a challenging economic climate, the best performing small businesses in Singapore earned good profits, while it was mainly the big companies, which struggled to keep their profits intact. As per the figures, profit level of the top 500 small businesses touched US5 million for 12 months that ended on May 31, 2009, down 0.2% as recorded in the same period during the previous year. However, revenues for 1,000 big firms reached US.7 billion, down 27% in 2009. However, figures showing the impact on turnover of Singapore SMEs in 2009 had a different story to tell. The best performing small businesses witnessed a modest growth of 4.7% in sales to touch US.6 billion, while the turnover of larger companies increased 11% to US.7trillion. Commenting on the figures, Chen Yew Nah, managing director of the DP Information Group, stated that the increase in turnover of best performing SMEs in Singapore shows that most small businesses have displayed remarkable skill and dexterity in restructuring their business in order to weather the tough times. Many of the best stations like KMOJ and Radio K donâ??t have a very clear signal so you have to be either in a certain part of the city or online to hear them properly. Radio K
The college radio station for the University of Minnesota, Radio K is able to play some of the most out-there and unheard of music thanks to their precence as a College station. Some of their music tastes overlap with The Current, but Radio K is more eclectic and plays songs from popular albums that arenâ??t just the singles or â??hits.â? Sadly, the Radio K signal isnâ??t very strong so the quality of the sound in most areas of the Twin Cities is pretty shakey unless you are close to the University. The great thing is that their online music player can be listened to anywhere and with most mobile devices including radio tuners that can fix the problem.
KMOJ
â??The Peopleâ??s Stationâ? KMOJ is a great success story, with small initial support from the Center for Communication and Development, KMOJ was launched as a vehicle and voice for the African American community, playing various social awareness messages as well as some of the best in soul, funk, new and old R&B music. You wonâ??t find another station in the Twin Cities or in the Midwest as a whole that is similar to KMOJ, they are truly in a league of their own and hopefully will be able to stay on the radio waves for a long time to come.

Try Billy Bob’s (Ft.Worth, near the Stockyards). Sportman’s Club by I-20 and Bryant Irvin;
Cowboys in Arlington or Cowboys Red River (they’re OK; not my kinda crowd–all hat, no cattle types, y’ask me).
