What To Do When Your Google Search Rankings Drop

Every experienced SEO consultant must have faced the nightmarish situation when a website drops down drastically in Google search results. You feverishly hope the client doesn’t get to know about this before the site regains the position. Frantic phone calls and emails from panicky client and demanding an explanation are expected. So what to do when such catastrophe happens?

Don’t Worry: Though, it’s natural to panic and immediately think of firefighting strategies, I will advise you to hold your horses for few days. In my experience, most of the drastic falls in search rankings have been temporary lasting from 1 day to at most a week. Never make the mistake of making drastic changes in your website. You should wait for the dust to settle. If the results seem to be long term, then you need to think of the steps to salvage the rankings but not yet.

Identify the Problem: Once you have established that the ranking is here to stay, then identify the problem. Once when this happened to my client’s site, the problem was the website was down for a week. Another common problem is that many SEO consultants adopt black hat techniques to boost their site rankings artificially. If that’s the case then fix your site ASAP. Remove any black hat techniques used on your site. Request Google for site reconsideration. Cross your fingers that Google heeds to your request and your site gets reinstated. Though, there is no fixed timeline for this to happen, it’s better to get this step done as soon as possible.

Diversify your back links: Very often Google algorithms change and with that many link building techniques get devalued. If you have been dependent on just one type of back links then it’s better to diversify and acquire links from other sources also.

Increase your traffic sources: Many people often just rely on Google for their traffic, neglecting other search engines like Bing and other avenues. Though, Google will be the largest contributor to your traffic, it’s advisable to build up your rankings in other search engines since one never can predict a dip in traffic from Google due to a drop in search rank.

A drop in Google search ranks even for a limited period of time can potentially mean great loss of revenue. Though, we cannot avoid it every time, what a SEO consultant can do is be aware of all latest news regarding SEO & Google and always be on right of Google’s guidelines for webmasters and focus on both short and long tail keywords.

Search For Office Space In Dallas

Search For Office Space In Dallas

Dallas has long been one of the premier locations for office space and running any type of compan. The downtown skyline is one of the most easily recognized among American cities, and the city has a history of erecting architecturally interesting skyscrapers. At the moment, it is also one of the most best and secure times to lease office space in Dallas due to the bad economy. Rates in the Central Business District are down, hovering around per square foot. A major factor in the low rents is the high vacancy rate of approximately 25% in the CBD. As a result, and coupled with the scarcity of available financing, there is almost no current construction activity, with the little progress happening in the outlying areas, such as the Park Lane Project, a 33.5 acre, 0 million mixed use development that will include 750,000 square feet of office space and approximately 700,000 square feet of retail commercial property. The project is opening in phases, beginning in late 2009 and continuing until 2011.

Dallas Commercial Downtown Real Estate News:

One project in the CBD is the new Convention Center Hotel, a one-thousand room hotel scheduled to open in 2011. Part of the city’s plan to revitalize downtown, it is hoped that the hotel will initiate additional construction in the areas of dining and entertainment. There are, however, many projects that are still either in the planning stages or on hold until financing improves. These include a 57-story residential tower (1900 Pacific), a 30 story office building on McKinnon, and a 20 story office building on McKinney. Park Seventeen, a 19 story office building, is scheduled for completion in late 2009 or early 2010. In addition, there are several residential and mixed use towers proposed for the area. Overall the local economy has been decent compared to the rest of America, and by the way executive suites are another option to save some $. We also have commercial properties for rent or lease in the following areas: Arlington, Beltline, Benbrook, Carrolton, Duncanville, Decatur, District, Ellum, Grand Prairie, Irving, Frisco, Garland, Keller, Mckinney, Mesquite, Metro, Northwest, Preston, and Richardson.

Dallas Population, Stats, and Office Space:

Dallas has a population of 1.28 million, and has seen a 7.7% increase since 2000. Residents enjoy a cost of living rate of 91.8, slightly below the national average and other Texas cities like Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. Current unemployment rates are at the 7.3% level, while job growth is a negative 3.7%. The crime rate has decreased steadily from 857 in 2000 to its current level of 696. Attractions in downtown Dallas include the West End Historic District, a renovated area that is home to numerous clubs, shops, and restaurants and is a great area to rent an office space or suite in Dallas. These nearby locations will include amenities and even furnished options, along with great monthly or 12 month lease options. Many special events are scheduled annually in the West End, such as the Taste of Dallas festival each July. Deep Ellum (along Elm Street) is yet another historical district that is home to several restaurants and clubs. The State Fairgrounds are on the fringes of downtown, and feature several museums and exhibits that are open year-round, such as the Aquarium and the Hall of State. The buildings represent some of the finest examples of Art Deco still in existence. If you are looking for news on other major cities then check out our commercial real estate articles.

How to search for free Internet radio

How to search for free Internet radio

In 1895, history was created in the field of entertainment by Guglielmo Marconi. Yes, you got it right! It was the year when this man invented the radio, the best and the cheapest mode of entertainment today. Radio is the only audio-medium source of information plus entertainment that is quite affordable and portable, that means it could be carried along anywhere unlike a television, which is bulky as well as not friendly to everyone’s pocket.

Time has changed, and this is the 21st century where robots are being used in place of human beings. Everything has been digitalized and modified in a computerized form, which undoubtedly has decreased the pressure by simplifying work for human beings. We now have an electronic coffee machine instead of those conventional kettles that were used to make coffee, we have mobile phones in the form of a wrist watch, the bulky desktops have now been transformed to beautiful and light weight palmtops and notebooks, the high definition picture quality for our LCD’s instead of that cable wire connection. What else do we need..?

Internet, that’s the word that has transformed this world to a global village. No one is far now, with the help of the Internet everything is just a few clicks away from you. A recent trend that has been introduced in the world of Internet is the concept of Internet radio. Here you can get connected to the radio while being online through your Internet connection anytime, anywhere and without any interruption in the signals. You just have to search for the radio stations that provide their services online too. Now to get started you should begin your search on the Internet by using the following keywords like; Internet radio station list or free Internet radio stations . This would take you to those radio stations that provide free services to the surfers, without having charged any registration fee or cost.

Now you must be wondering, how come these radio stations provide their services for free in today’s time where you have to pay even for a bottle of water? Well the answer to this question is as follows:

* There are certain parameters according and under which these radio stations work in order to provide free services to their online listeners.

* They require a certain kind of broadband connection which has enough bandwidth to get connected with so many listeners worldwide.

* They get connected through the satellite and transmit the signals in the form of current that is passed on to the server’s connection of the listener.

* By this connection, whenever the listener logs in to his Internet service provider, the radio signals catch the signals and every time when the online radio station is visited it starts playing music.

Besides these radio stations, there are certain websites on the Internet that provide the same facility of free online radio service to the surfers.

Whenever listening to radio online just be alert that you are not fooled or cheated by some fraud online radio stations, as earlier they might say that the subscription is free, but often start charging money from you by asking for your credit card number, saying it is mandatory for registration. So do not ever give your bank account number or your credit card number.

Keeping these points in mind and being alert will lead to an unstoppable journey of entertainment over the Internet radio. So go and enjoy your free access to music, but be careful.

XHTML, forms, and google search?

Question by Trust me, I’m a scientist.: XHTML, forms, and google search?

SEARCH:

www.umd.edu

Web

powered by Google ™

When I want to search just umd.edu, it doesn’t work. Please let me know what I’m doing wrong.

PS… if you are going to post HTML here, please make sure it all shows up but putting various extra spaces throughout the code. If yahoo answers gets too long of a string of text, it chops it off.

Thanks
I only put spaces so that you can see everything that I typed. Without the spaces, Yahoo would chop off what I typed….

Best answer:

Answer by The Oracle
For one thing, you have spaces in your GET URL (between “www.” and “google.com/”, and between that and “custom”. I’m not even sure that’s the correct URL to get to perform a search – you should double-check that.

Secondly, you have *two* radio buttons, both named (name=) “search”. The processing engine can only process one value for the variable “search,” and you are providing it with two. You should ensure that “search” is the parameter required to specify a domain restriction to the Google search engine – if you specify the wrong variable name, the processor simply won’t understand that data and will ignore it.

Save Time Trawling Through Documents With The Dps Delta Search – Full Text Search

DPS Delta Search is a full text search that can be run from DPS OneOffice, Outlook Office, or DPS Web View. A full text search refers to a technique for searching a computer-stored document or database. The DPS Delta search engine examines all of the words in every stored document as it tries to match search words supplied by the user.

Searches can be run in two ways: from within a DPS file and across all work done over any period of time, on any file. DPS Delta Search searches every associated document including the following types: doc, docx, xls, xlsx, rtf, pdf, ppt, txt, csv, msg (emails), and any email attachments that are in a searchable format or zip files.

When the search engine is required to search a large number of documents, the database will need to be indexed. Indexing scans the text of all the documents and builds a list of search terms. Once the DPS file system has been indexed, the search engine can search an unlimited number of documents with a single search request. The indexed file system is automatically updated using the Windows Task Scheduler, reflecting additions, deletions and modifications to documents.

A large number of documents are stored and produced within a law firm and these documents often need to be referred to when working on a case. Case Management systems enable these documents to be stored electronically. When case management systems are used in conjunction with solutions such as the DPS Delta Search, firms are able to search for specific items or terms within the electronic documents in an instant, saving time trawling through individual letters, emails and file notes.

Founded 25 years ago, DPS Software are one of the UK’s leading providers of case management and accounting software for solicitors. Their award-winning case management systems cover Conveyancing, Crime, Matrimonial, Personal Injury, Wills & Probate and are complemented by fully integrated Accounts and Digital Dictation systems.

Where to Search for Broadcasting Jobs in the 21st Century

We are already at the end of the first decade of the 21st century, and radio, TV and Internet broadcasting jobs have not become extinct. Some say that there will be fewer available radio and TV broadcasting jobs throughout the next decade, however others disagree.

With the push for higher education and specialized skills, an education in broadcasting is highly valued. So what does one do with a broadcasting education? Where should recent graduates go to find the best broadcasting jobs in the United States and beyond?

Broadcasting schools and journalism departments all have job placement resources for upcoming graduates and new graduates. However, if these leads are not enough or do not offer the type of job graduates want, there are other resources. Current newspapers and the Website Current.org have updated job boards listing the most current broadcasting jobs including broadcasting management, production, programming, marketing and development.

Looking to transfer or experience another type of broadcasting job? Search the Corporation for Public Broadcasting’s Website for television or radio jobs by state. Browse broadcasting jobs from Alaska to Virginia and everywhere in between for the most suitable work environment. Recently listed broadcasting jobs include news editor, senior accountant, executive web producer, and television station coordinator. Another option is to search a specific public broadcasting network such as NPR, PRI, PBS or American Public Media with broadcasting job opportunities in Minnesota, California and Florida.

A national job bank for broadcast graduates is CareerPage.org, which lists several types of broadcasting job categories. If you know the specific area in which you want to work, then you can select from administrative, engineering, news, programming, promotions, production, or sales. Each type has both radio and television sub-categories. Additionally, a job seeker can select an individual  state or search all states. A search for Colorado broadcasting jobs garnered a list of eight results posted since March 1, 2009, but results could be found as early as January 1, 2009. Contact information, as well as a job description, is included with each broadcasting job listing. Most jobs require experience in the broadcasting field, so accepting as many broadcasting internships as possible during your education is an advantage. Many times radio and television general managers will accept internships as qualified experience.

Another place to search for television and radio broadcasting jobs is JournalBroadcastingGroup.com where they accept internship applications as well as corporate, television and radio career opportunity applications. Although the corporate office is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Journal Broadcasting Group has both television and radio markets throughout the country from Alaska to Florida. Many broadcasting jobs are available through this valuable resource.

Do you speak another language fluently, such as Spanish? There is a growing market for Spanish speaking radio and television broadcast positions. Several networks across the country have Spanish radio stations (Los Angeles based KLVE 107.5 ) as well as television stations (Univision’s popular KMEX). According to the Washington Post, KMEX has a lead on other popular English news programs. Los Angeles is not the only city that carries Spanish broadcasting news and radio. One can also look to Miami, Florida and North Carolina where there are large populations of Spanish speaking Latinos. Ohio even has its Columbus based WXOL Radio Sol 1550 station with a strong Hispanic following. The market continues to grow for broadcasting jobs in both TV and radio.

Of course, broadcasting graduates can and should contact their local radio and television broadcast companies for available openings. Even if you are switching from radio broadcasting to TV broadcasting or vice versa, and have work experience, finding local stations is the best place to start searching for broadcasting jobs. Remember to always get a name and business card for future reference and also to give your name and number if you do not have a business card.

Since many radio and television stations have turned to the Internet to increase their listener base, broadcasting jobs are booming and will likely require additional broadcasting experience online in the coming decades. Use your knowledge and background to build your resume as well as your confidence in locating the most suitable broadcasting job in the 21st century.

Tim White is the director of admissions for the Ohio and Illinois Centers for Broadcasting and a manager of several national bands and artists. He has been FCC licensed since being a college radio DJ and knows the best radio broadcast jobs are found at OICB.
