Question by Shelby T: How is the music education program at the University of North Texas?
I’m a future music Ed major, and I really like UNT, but I’ve heard mixed reviews from people. Some say that it’s a great place to go to school, but I’ve also heard that it’s not a very nurturing environment and that instead of investing in your education, they just sortof blow you off as long as you pay tuition. So if you know anything at all about UNT’s music program (particularly music Ed) then I’m all ears!! Thanks!

I studied music for a few semesters at a college in texas, and all you hear about is UNT. I’m not joking. I heard it from performers that would visit, our faculty and from general conversation with the students, so I’m going to go out on a limb and say its pretty good. But, the part about the school’s environment is true. I switched my major from music to business and I went to stay with some friends at the UNT campus to kind of get the feel of it. I didn’t like it, the campus looked like a large high school, plus I think there were more residential buildings than there were for academics. But, I did hear something about them getting a 70 Million dollar bond passed to update a few of the schools, so that, along with A very good music program means you should try and check it out for yourself.

Question by David: How much of a difference does it make to go to Texas Tech University verse another Texas university?
How much of a difference does it make to go to Texas Tech University verse another college such as the University of Texas? I am thinking about double majoring in business management and economics and minoring in psychology. Then going to either Law school or getting a masters in business management depending on my interests. I like Texas Tech better than UT because my sister goes there and I like the environment. I can get into both colleges so admission is not an issue. Thanks!

I’m currently in College and persuing a career in Broadcast Journalism. At this point, I have pretty much completed my Generals and taking my transfer classes which are Journalism and Broadcasting classes. I still don’t think I am a good writer. I love to write, but I don’t write great or don’t feel my writing is interesting to read. What can I do to prepare myself mentally and write what I really want to bring out to my paper?
