Ways on How to Save Money on Restaurant Supplies

If you’re just starting a restaurant, finding a reliable supplier of restaurant equipment and materials is critical to the success of your business.  If you’re not careful, you could spend more on supplies than is necessary.  To control your expenditure and still get great deals on restaurant supplies, here are tips you can use:

Buy in bulk
Buying in bulk may seem intimidating but it will save you a lot of money in the long run.  Some of the best restaurant supplies deals you’ll find are those that are offered through bulk purchases.  If you become a regular buyer, you might even get huge loyalty discounts.

Purchase only supplies with the NSF sticker
NSF stands for the National Sanitation Foundation, which certifies kitchen and restaurant supplies for efficiency and food preparation safety.  If you see this blue sticker on restaurant supplies, it’s an indication that they are suited for use in commercial kitchens.  Restaurant owners are required to use NSF-certified equipment, so best invest on these.

Spending a lot on a brand?  Research
If you’re considering paying a lot of money for restaurant supplies and equipment, at least get to know the company that makes them.  Look for a reliable business that has sufficient experience and reputation.  Supplies are more likely to be high quality, perform better and carry a warranty.  You’ll have better protection with reputable restaurant supplies manufacturers than companies that offer cheaper, generic brands.

However, if you do find a generic or obscure brand that fits your requirements, go ahead and use this instead.

Look for quality
When buying restaurant supplies, don’t just focus on the great deals – make sure you are also assured of quality.  Retailers and manufacturers that offer restaurant supplies deals have a good reason for slashing their prices.  Don’t sacrifice the condition of the supplies for the savings.

Always inspect the product physically, whether you buy it in-store or ordered it from an online site.  Check the specs – the length, width, make, material, color, texture, etc.  If, for example, the description states that a knife has a 7″ blade length, it has to have that length.  You shouldn’t end up with a 4-inch knife blade with a 3-inch handle.

Compare brand new and used
If you’re trying to save (and even if you’re not), consider used or secondhand restaurant supplies such as equipment.  There are great restaurant supplies deals from companies that offer used equipment.  As long as you can inspect the items for quality, you can find great guys here.

Consider clearance sales
Some people may consider clearance sales as dead ends but if you choose carefully, you could get great deals on restaurant supplies here.  Some hard-to-find items can be had on clearance sales, especially stuff that have come to end-of-production runs.  Look for quality and functionality so you don’t overspend.

For your restaurant equipment and kitchen supplies needs, you can always count on Lion’s Deal.

5 Easy Ways To Get Great Internet Radio Guests Part 1- Finding Guests

You’ve got a great radio show, but you want to make it even better. How do you find even more great guests, and how do you contact them when you do? This is part 1 of a 3 part series on finding and contacting potential guests for your internet radio show. (Or any other interview.)

Finding Tip #1. Google Your Target Subject

You know the types of subjects you and your audience want to hear about. Use Google (or your favorite search engine) to find out what, and more importantly who, is hot in that field.

Finding Tip #2. Search Blogtalk for Target Guests

The great thing about finding guests on Blogtalk is that you can hear what interviewing that person is like. You also know they do Blogtalk interviews, and can usually find a link to their website. This makes contacting them even easier.

Finding Tip #3. Go To Your Local Book Store

Authors are always wanting to share their latest book with a larger audience. Look in your local bookstore for the new books coming out in your subject. You can also go to Amazon.com for great authors. They have a lot of great books (and potential guests) that haven’t gotten into the mainstream bookstores yet. This will make them even more eager to find an audience.

Finding Tip #4. Talk To Other Hosts

Joining a few active groups on social media sites can be a gold mine. Most hosts like to brag (and with good reason) about their best interviews, and most don’t mind sharing their best guests. After all, if you like someone, you want them to do well, and helping them find more exposure is good for everyone. You can even promote your favorite guests and win brownie points from them and the other hosts both!

Finding Tip #5. Survey Your Audience

Put a survey on your website or just ask for emails. Ask your audience who they would like to hear on you show. Since it is all about your audience, why not find out what they want? They may know about people you’ve never heard of, or remind you about someone you’ve always wondered about, too. When you contact the guest, you can honestly say your audience asked for them by name! It’s a great way to get your foot in the door.

Finding Tip Bonus! Go to WebRadioResource

This is a site specifically designed to connect radio hosts and guests. Put your profile up and guests will contact you. Go through the guest profiles and look for your target subjects. They are organized by the same categories as Blogtalk, so it is easy to find just the right guest.

The Best Ways to Purchase Football Tickets

Football is a game that is famous all over the world. It is a craze among the football fanatics to procure football tickets and visit the stadium to watch their favorite game of football live. Others who are not so lucky watch it on television. Football or soccer is played at a professional level all over the world. It stirs up tremendous passion among its fans and among the nations. It is considered one of the most popular games among all age groups.

About The Game

Football is played between two different teams each having eleven players. It is played with a ball on a rectangular field having goal posts on both the sides. The main objective of the players is to take the ball into the opposite goal post. The more number of times you can maneuver the ball in the opposing goal post, the more you get to score. A referee supervises the game. The decisions taken by him are final. A single match is divided into two halves of forty-five minutes each. One player tries to prevent the ball from reaching the goal post. He is called the goalkeeper. At the end of the game, the team with the highest number of goals wins. However, if both the teams score the same number of goals then it is a draw. To resolve a draw, the duration of the game is increased. A penalty shootout is declared if the results continue to be drawn. Procuring football tickets for matches are a craze among the fans.

The game of football is supervised and governed by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA). The most popular football match held at an international level is the World Cup. More than 190 countries participate in it right from the qualifying rounds. The whole world is united during this time. The thrill can be seen in everyone’s face. The fans exult throughout the event. Then you must see the craze for football tickets for the game. There are various rules that govern the game of Soccer. The most common among them is that none of the players of either team is allowed to hit the ball with their hands or arms except the goalkeeper. The others can use their legs, head or any other part of the body excepting arms and hands to push the ball.

Procuring Football Tickets

It is very difficult to procure football tickets of any important match. Nevertheless, football fanatics are least bothered about the hardships. You can buy it from the stadium counter. However, that would require you to really stand and wait in long queues facing the extremes of weather. It would also include hustling and jostling.

Another more comfortable option is to sit at home and contact a ticket broker for football tickets. The staff there is highly competent and can help you purchase as many football tickets you want. You can even have the football tickets delivered at your doorsteps. You can simply relax and wait for the big day!

5 Easy Ways To Get Great Internet Radio Guests Part 3- What To Say

Now that you know who you want to interview (See Part 1- Finding Guests) and how to find them (See Part 2- Contacting Guests), what do you say to make these busy people want to talk on your show? Here’s how to build a professional information packet to send to potential guests. This is part 3 of a 3 part series on finding and contacting potential guests for your internet radio show. (Or any other interview.)

What to Say Tip #1. Who Are You?

You know all about your potential guest, but they don’t know about you. Who are you? What is your show about? Keep this introduction down to one paragraph if you can. If you have interviewed any big shots, you might name drop here. This very first paragraph needs to make this person want to know more about your show.

What to Say Tip #2. Why This Guest?

This part is best if you individualize it to each guest. Why do you want this particular person on you show? How did you find them?  How did you hear about them? If this name came from your audience survey, tell them that. If they are one of your favorite authors, tell them that, too. Make this person feel wanted, and they will want to be on your show.

What to Say Tip #3. Who is Your Audience?

Experts don’t just give interviews to hear themselves talk. They want to know who will be listening. It’s not just the size of your audience that is important, it is also how focused they are. Do you do talk about all financial subjects, or just Real Estate? Is your focus on anything metaphysical, or just meditation? These things will effect who will want to be on your show. Also, how active is your audience? Do you have a blog where everyone talks about the show they just heard? Can you open up the lines for question and answer times? Keep this short, but tell your potential guest who they would be talking to.

What to Say Tip #4. What Do You and Your Audience Expect?

Some shows do a lot of product promotion. Others are pure information, and all the guest can give is a website at the very end. I personally like to let my guests promote in the last five minutes or so, as long as they have given good, straight information for the rest of the hour. Let your potential guest know what is in this for them, and what you want in return.

What to Say Tip #5. When, Where, and How

When is your show? If your guest can’t be there at that time, can you tape the interview and play it later? Do you do your interviews over the phone, or do you like to meet them in person? If you have a selection of dates open, include them here.

Do you want them to send you a list of questions? Do you already have questions you want to ask? If you have your guests fill out specific forms (sometimes a good idea) so that you are both on the same page, you can include the form as an attachment or a link to it here.

What to Say Bonus! In Closing

This part is personal again, though you can have most of it pre-written. Remind this guest why you want them, and that you hope to hear from them soon. Remember to include your contact information- email, phone if you want them to call you, and links to your website, social sites, and Blogtalk show. Give your potential guest a chance to look you up and get to know you.

The more you can personalize your contacts with potential guests, the more likely they will respond, but that doesn’t mean you have to write the whole information packet each time. Have it in a word processing program and add the personal bits to each letter/email before you send it. You will come across as organized, professional, and someone your guest will want to do business with. Good Luck!

5 Easy Ways To Get Great Internet Radio Guests Part 2- Contacting Guests

Now that you know how to find great guests (See Part 1 Finding Guests) how do you contact them? How do you convince them to be on your show? This is part 2 of a 3 part series on finding and contacting potential guests for your internet radio show. (Or any other interview.)

Contacting Tip #1. What Do You Have To Offer?

The very first thing to think about when contacting a potential guest is what you have to offer them. How big is your audience? If you have over a thousand listeners, most people will want to be on your show. If you are just starting and only have your twenty best friends listening, then you want guests to whom 20 people is an acceptable audience.

Also think about what your audience is focused on. 20 very interested people may be more useful to your potential guest than 100 people that might listen. Look over your list of potential guests. Which ones do you think are looking for the size and type of audience you have? Keep the list of bigger names you might put aside now. Your audience will grow, and you might contact them next year.

Contacting Tip #2. Go to Their Website

Most experts that you want to interview also want to be known, which means they will have a website with a “Contact Me” page. Send them an email with a link to your show and a request for an interview. Let them know what you have to offer, and why you want them on your show. Nobody minds a little flattery, if it is honest and not overdone.

Contacting Tip #3.  Go to their Facebook Fan Page

It seems everyone is on Facebook and other social Media sites. This can be a great way to contact authors, speakers, and other experts. You can also get a feel for how they treat their fans here, and think about how you want to contact them and what you want to say. You might even respond to a blog they do, or make other friendly contact before asking directly for the interview, especially if they are a bigger name. People will do more for someone they know (even electronically) and like than they will for a total stranger

Contacting Tip #4.  Do a Whois on Their Website

I couldn’t find a direct contact number for one guest I really wanted, so I went to Whois.com and called the phone number listed for the owner of the site. It was answered by the very person I wanted! It may be a long shot, but it can sometimes pay off, and even if it doesn’t get you directly to the person you want, it may get you a person who knows and can contact them.

Contacting Tip #5.  Contact Their Publisher

If you are trying to get a hold of an author, you can always go through their publisher. Again, send a letter or email telling them (in a short and succinct way) who you are and what you want. If you are offering to give their author more exposure, they will be likely to pass that information on, and maybe even encourage the author to do the interview. After all, the publisher makes money for each book sold, too. You could even ask the publisher for the contact information for other authors on the same or similar subjects.

Contacting Tip Bonus!  Go To WebRadioResource

Since guests on this site are here because they want to be interviewed, these are easy to contact. Read their profile(s), then call or send them an email. Send a link to one of your shows if you’d like. Let them know who you are and why you want to interview them.
