Texas house talks about workplace smoking ban
A Texas House Committee will take up a bill that would ban smoking in the workplace and most indoor public places on Wednesday. Those in favor of the bill said the legislation would save the state more than $ 400 million in medical cost. Opponents said a smoking ban would mean too much government interference into Texans’ lives. A senate committee heard the bill Tuesday, but did not take a vote.

Oil Tops 6 a Barrel
Oil prices rose to a fresh 2-1/2 year high early Monday, climbing above $ 106 a barrel, as the violence in Libya continues to unsettle the market. The benchmark U.S. contract, West Texas Intermediate, for April delivery was up $ 2.26, or 2.1%, to $ 106.68 a barrel.
